Big Brother 10: Finale Thoughts

Hey y'all. Last night was the Big Brother 10 finale, and I miss it already. I missed Big Brother After Dark last night. Although the last couple of nights have been boring with only Dan and Memphis in the house, it was still pleasant ... you know? This finale was the first one in a while where I didn't have to hold my nose and watch. Either of them would have been fine winning for me. I didn't like the way they did everything, but both played the game and for the most part they played clean.

CBS wastes too much time on recaps at the beginning of each episode. The finale wasn't as bad as last Thursday's show, however. They only recapped once, in color, and not twice, once in color and the other in black and white/sepia tones. And then we got to see the jury waiting for the final jury member. Some of them were still bitter, and it was still funny.

Keesha wasn't the most bitter of the crew, surprisingly, but she still wanted Memphis to be the final juror. Libra wanted it to be Jerry, because he wasn't the 'gingerly old man you thought he was'. Renny didn't want it to be Jerry, because she didn't want to spend any more time with him. Renny must have been off her meds again, because last night she was back to the wacky ole woman she was at the beginning.

It was funny and kind of sad when Jerry appeared. No one got up to hug him or show him any affection. I guess since they didn't need him anymore, they didn't have to be nice. He wasn't bitter at all as he told them what happened after Keesha left and then they started talking about the final 2 before the jury questioning.

Renny really kind of turned me off last night. From her bitterness in the jury house, to her curtsey and camera hogging at the live show, she made me look at her in a different manner. I always knew there was more to her than she showed in the house. I pegged her as a phony, but wow.

Michelle, on the other hand, was actually kind of impressive. Yes, she was still bitter, but I ignore that, haha. She was not fooled by Dan's offer of the trip and took pleasure in letting both Jerry and Memphis know about it. I was also laughing when she called Dan out during the jury questioning. On the trip he told her that it wasn't just him, that it was his alliance that set her up for the backdoor, but he quickly backed down when Michelle asked him about it in front of his alliance. That was about the only time Dan wasn't totally confident.

Dan, basically, had them eating out of his hand by the end of the questioning. His final plea was like the pep talks he gave the girls at that one endurance challenge. Memphis, though, didn't do himself any favors. He never really answered any of the questions, and kind of seemed very insincere. Dan was a pro and Memphis suffered for it. He was totally outplayed here.

Back at the live portion of the show, when the jurors cast their votes, most of them were very classy. And then there was Renny. She had to get more camera time and she went on and on about something ... I don't know what, I tuned her out, but she basically told us that she voted for Dan. Jerry mumbled something about voting for the person that was nice to him (huh?) and that he'd explain later.

In theory, I like the portion of the show where Julie Chen brings back the evicted houseguests that didn't make the jury. In practice, though, it seems that every season only one or two get to talk and the others are ignored. That pretty much happened this year, too. As usual, Brian took over. I guess he appointed himself spokesperson for the entire group and proceded to lecture and analyze the play of the jury members. I liked him when I interviewed him, but his 15 minutes are up. Steven just sat there and nodded his head in agreement with everything Brian said, similar to the chat last week. I don't remember Angie saying a word and Jessie was Jessie.

Actually it was pretty funny when Julie told them about Dan being America's player for a week and America targeting Jessie for everything. Jessie really wasn't happy about it and told America what they could do. Good thing Julie didn't say anything about it until after the votes were cast, because there may have been some changes.

When the votes were finally shown, I was surprised. It ended up going 7-0 for Dan. The jury members decided that Dan played the better game, or they were still under the spell of his pep talk. While that didn't bother me at all, America's Favorite Juror did. I didn't vote, but if I had, I definitely would not have voted for Keesha. I've already told y'all how I feel about females that call other females the C word. From my wanderings on the web, Keesha ought to thank April for this money. I don't know how many times I saw where someone posted that they voted 50 bazillion times for Keesha to win just so that they could see April's bitter beer face. Well, Keesha won the cash, and the voters got scammed. April was very ladylike and gracious when she congratulated Keesha.

All in all, it was a decent finale. I wish we could have a show like 'After the Rose'. Come back in a couple of weeks after the jurors have been home and told what really went on in the house. Wonder how they'd act then. I'm sure we'll get some inkling as the post-show interviews and chats start happening. What did y'all think of the show? Were you pleased with the outcome? Comment below.

Big Brother 10: Who's Gonna Take It All?

It seems to me as if this season of Big Brother has gone by very quickly. I've really enjoyed it. The cast and the lack of 'twists' have, for the most part, redeemed the season for me. I admit that I was burnt out and disillusioned after Big Brother 7, 8, and 9. I began the season cautiously optimistic after reading the cast bios and watching the interviews with Diane Henry of Big Brother 5. Although it didn't live up to the hype, the season did keep my interest and the winner will not be the lesser of two evils.

Dan, for me, was the most surprising. After reading his bio on the CBS website, I knew that I wasn't going to like him. I had him pegged as a closed minded, holier-than-thou jerk. I was pleasantly surprised by his demeanor. His goodbye message to Steven was another eye opener, and watching him listen to people was interesting. Yes, I know that much of it may have been strategy, but Steven wasn't on the jury, so that wouldn't have helped him.

Don't get me wrong, I haven't put him on a pedastal or anything like that. I totally disliked the veto roulette game he played and I didn't care for his mind games. It seemed that he played this game head and shoulders more intelligently than the others. At the beginning, he was dead man walking because of his alliance with Brian.

Have you noticed that on each of the past two seasons, someone involved with a dead alliance has made it to the end? Zach in BB8 was the last of the Mrs. Robinson alliance, and Ryan was targeted last season because of his relationship with Jen. Will this be the year that the doomed alliance member wins it all?

Memphis has played a very different game than Dan. He, too, was targeted early. Brian, correctly as it turned out, felt that Memphis was a big threat to win it all. In my interview with Brian earlier this season, he predicted a Memphis win. Each time Memphis was targeted early in the game, someone else appeared on the scene to take his place. First it was Brian and then Jessie showed his behind.

Memphis made a couple of really beneficial alliances that managed to save him and allow him to keep his hands clean. Keesha really went to bat for him. I know that a lot of fans are really ticked off at Memphis because of him evicting Keesha, but I honestly think that it was the best move for him. It could have been handled a little better, but it was the best move. Keesha would have been stronger in the final 3 Head of Household competition than Jerry, and I think that if she'd won she would have taken Dan. And although Dan is all Renegade power now, I have my doubts that he'd have taken Memphis to the Final 2.

So who will it be? Dan, the master manipulator, or Memphis, the laid back UTR player? After the jury questioning, I still have doubts, and it seems that they do, too. Both guys came back feeling both confidence and doubt. It seems that the jury didn't give them any clues. I guess the main confusion was coming from Keesha, April and Ollie. It seems as though Keesha has realized that Dan was just as responsible for her eviction as Memphis was. Ollie is probably still angry at Dan about breaking his word, but he's disliked Memphis for the longest time.

My initial thoughts were that Dan would have Keesha, Renny and maybe Libra. I wasn't sure about Michelle because she seemed to realize that the outing was simply a way to work her for her vote, but did it work? And I thought that Memphis would have Jerry, April and maybe Ollie. We'll see how it all works out Tuesday night. Who is your pick to take it all and win Big Brother 10?

Big Brother 10: And the Alliance Crumbles

I think it's finally dawned on some of the Big Brother 10 houseguests, that only one of them can win. This hasn't been a summer vacation, although some of them have acted like it. Feelings are getting hurt, tears are being shed, and accusations are being hurled. I love it!!!

Keesha is convinced that Memphis is going to vote to evict her tonight. She's right, but he says that he can't tell her. She has totally gone drama queen. Less than a week after she blew off Renny and refused to share with her that the boys were keeping her, Keesha, she's going after Memphis for refusing to share his vote. He didn't want to tell her because he knew that she'd whine, cry, accuse, pout, etc. And that's exactly what she did.

Why would Memphis keep her, other than show friendship? Memphis has set himself up for F2, if he does vote to evict her. Against Jerry, he knows that Dan will pick him, and he knows that Jerry doesn't like Dan, so Jerry will pick him, Memphis. With Keesha there, he was never sure of her or Dan's relationship. It would have been more of a gamble for him. He knows he doesn't do well in the mental challenges, so he's having to depend on someone to take him.

And Dan is playing them all. Dan played innocent and had Keesha promising to work for him in the Jury House. He told Memphis that he was going to keep Keesha calm, and then he threw Memphis under the bus. He still has not told anyone of his outing with Michelle. He underestimates Jerry, though, and that may cost him. He totally discounts his ability to win the final Head of Household competition.

And whudathunk it that Jerry would make it to F3? Not me, that's for sure. He's sitting pretty good, actually. He could win this thing if he makes it to the final 2. I figure he will have April, Ollie and probably Michelle's vote, and after last week, maybe even Renny's. I don't like the way he's acted in the game, but he's played the game. Actually I think it would be quite amusing to see him win after the smugness of the other three.

Tonight, Tuesday, is the first part of the final Head of Household and is usually endurance. With these three, I don't see it lasting all that long, really. Wednesday will be the second part, and Thursday on the second live show of the week, will be the recap of the second part and the third part live. Then the winner of the Head of Household will immediately evict the last jury member. Then it will be a long dry spell. The live feed watchers will be lurking to catch the final two after the jury questioning, but other than that I can imagine total boredom until next Tuesday.

Big Brother 10: It Might Not Be Such a Predictable Weekend After All

I thought tonight's Big Brother 10 was boring and predictable. The alliance of Renny, Keesha, Dan and Memphis run roughshod over the rest of the house and emerge as America's favorites to make up for the disappointment of Big Brother 6. Saw it coming a mile away. My sister called me earlier and predicted that the last question of the Head of Household competition would be wonky, cause a tie and that one of the four would win the tiebreaker, similar to last season when Sharon got screwed out of her HoH. Well, my sis called it.

So when the feeds came back on, I figured they'd give Keesha one night in the HoH room and I'd have an early night. I definitely was not going to stay up and listen to another night of Dan and Memphis gloating about how they have this thing won. And I didn't want to listen to Jerry drone on and them listen and then when he left bash him. But wait, the live feeds went to bubbles and stayed there, so I figured they were having the second Head of Household competition of the evening.

Big Brother After Dark came on before the feeds came back on and lo and behold, the HoH key was around Jerry's neck. Ha! I really don't like Jerry, but I love it when the majority's plan gets a kink in it. Now they have to pretend to listen to him at least until Monday. Dan and Memphis' faces went from gloating to worried in a matter of an hour or so.

While it will be boring on the feeds until Jerry goes to bed, night time will be interesting. Once nominations are made, the alliance will turn on each other. That's always good for a few laughs. It'll even be amusing to make my rounds of message boards and read the posts of mourning for their favorite final four in a long time. Evil, aren't I? That's one of the perks of not having a favorite in the house.

Who will Jerry nominate? Which alliance member will turn first? Memphis is already kissing up to Keesha. Keesha is playing nice to Jerry as is Renny, hoping that he'll put the boys up. It'll be an interesting night and day tomorrow in the Big Brother 10 house. Post your thoughts below.

Big Brother 10: Good TV?

What is 'Good TV'? That is so subjective, yet it seems to be so important to some reality tv contestants. They try to manufacture situations that they believe will enthrall and entertain the viewing audience. Personally, if I wanted manufactured situations, I'd watch scripted television with real actors. And it's even more annoying to sit and watch them gloat about their plans all weekend.

Now I dislike Dan less than most of the remaining houseguests ... well actually all of the remaining houseguests ... but his Head of Household reign has been an eye rolling experience for me. While it's been somewhat amusing to see Renny stuck to his behind after all her talk of distrust last week, his plan to manufacture drama at the Power of Veto meeting wasn't amusing in the least.

He made a stupid deal with Ollie while enduring the HoH competition. It was a very stupid deal and it was all his own idea. It was so unnecessary. But to spend the first 40 something days talking about how he's so concerned over his image and how he carries himself in the house and the past few days gloating about how he was going to reel Ollie in and then go back on his word was very hypocritical.

I know Big Brother is a game of lying and deceit, and it doesn't bother me. What bothered me was Dan's behavior with his little friends in the Head of Household room. That room really seems to go to their heads. Why don't they remember it's only for one week? If he was supposed to be such a good guy, and it was important to him to be the good guy, why play that way? Why make the deal? Why affirm to Ollie right before that you were keeping the deal? Why tell your allies that you were going to blindside him at the meeting for 'good tv'? Was that necessary?

Well, Dan, you got your betrayal. It didn't work out totally the way you planned it, though, did it? Between your stupid making of the deal and the stupid way you broke the deal, you may have just cost yourself the game. Last week, you were a front runner to take it all. Right now you are cowering in your little room. Right now you are pathetically seeking approval from Renny. Right now you can pretty much kiss off four jury votes if you happen to make it that far.

Yes, you may have engineered some drama in the Power of Veto meeting, I guess we'll see on Tuesday, but more drama happened after the meeting. Old Ollie really showed his behind. He was cussing, calling names, and throwing things. Yeah, he had a big ole temper tantrum. In fact, I was wondering if he would get kicked out of the house. I guess since he wasn't throwing things at or around people, it was okay.

I have no love for Ollie, and feel no sorrow for him at all. I just hate that Dan may have ruined his game, his shot at $500,000, just to make 'good tv'. So, after the Good TV put on for us by Dan, the nominees are Jerry and Michelle. Michelle is gone, but Dan's allies are laughing and joking about taking Jerry's money for their votes, even though they have no intention of voting him out. This may be an interesting week in the Big Brother 10 house. But hey, Dan, hope it was worth it.

Big Brother 10: Deluded Much?

Big Brother 10 Houseguest April is nuts. She has delusions of grandeur that are sometimes amusing to watch, and sometimes just sad. For some strange reason, she thinks that she's America's Sweetheart, and I think she's going to be really hurt when she gets out.

I haven't liked the way she's played. She's been unnecessarily nasty to her allies and unwilling to take responsibility for her actions. She's a walking contradiction. She regularly has sex on camera, but she insists on changing her clothes in private. She's a staunch advocate for her nephew's disability, but she makes fun of others.

From her biography and what she's said in the house, she has a very good job and has her own home. She seems to be very independent, and she's shown flashes of that in the house. Why then, would she hook up with someone in the house almost from the first?

I could sort of see it if he were a strong player and she was using him. But Ollie is a useless sort of fellow. If anything, he has been using and hiding behind her. He hasn't won a thing and while she's portrayed as a beyotch, he's floating along. She could have had a strong female alliance going, but her jealousy and relationship with Ollie got in the way.

Ollie feeds into her feeling of superiority, spitefulness, and sense of entitlement. And the way she isolated herself during her Head of Household reign doomed her alliance. She refused to listen to her teammates' feelings about Jesse. They gave her plenty of hints that they wanted him out, but she refused to bend. Jesse and Michelle played her like a fiddle. Her storming downstairs for that catfight played right into their hands.

I'm still trying to figure out how she figures that America would pick as it's sweetheart a shrew that seems to enjoy having unprotected sex for the camera. And it's not as if she didn't realize what she was doing. Last night on Big Brother After Dark, she and Ollie commented that we caught their entire coupling. And her attitude ... sheesh. She can be an ugly piece of work. The way she bashes others is such a turn off.

She is on her way to sequester. After the ugly goodbye message she recorded for Libra, I wonder what kind of welcome she'll get when she walks through the door. I hope we get to see it. And when the game is over, she'll get another welcome that I'd like to see. When she realizes that America is not enamored of her, and that she hasn't put on her best face, she'll be shocked. And that would be more entertaining to me than her time in the Big Brother 10 house.

Remember how much fun the viewer wake-up calls were a couple of seasons ago? Well Big Brother remembers them, too. They are giving us another opportunity to rudely awaken the Big Brother 10 houseguests, but if you want to participate, you'd better hurry.

Thirty Six Hours of Chaos in the Big Brother 10 House

Wow! It's been a wild and woolly 36 hours in the Big Brother 10 house. April won the endurance Head of Household competition after promising Michelle to keep her and Jessie safe. It was pretty much a given that Memphis would be nominated, but the question was who else would April put on the block.

Since she'd promised safety to Jessie and Michelle, Memphis was the only one not in her alliance. I guess I figured she'd put up either Jerry or Dan, since they weren't core members. April, though, rationalized that she only promised safety, not freedom from nomination. She was determined not to put Michelle up out of respect for her showing in the competition, so Jessie it was.

April brought Michelle up to her room to explain herself before the nomination ceremony, and assured her that Jessie would be safe. When Michelle explained it to Jessie, he somehow got the impression that now he and Michelle were in an alliance with April and Ollie. That mistaken impression caused all sorts of discontent last night.

The nomination ceremony went on as planned. It lasted longer that I expected, but when it was over Memphis and Jessie were on the block. Keesha is trying to work it to keep Memphis. I knew last week that there was something going on there. I thought that part of her reason to get rid of Angie was because she was jealous of the relationship between them. So this is going to cause a little discontent in the alliance of 7.

The houseguests also learned that the Power of Veto competition would also be held that day, or actually late that night. I'm mad that they schedule these things for right after Big Brother After Dark, but it is what it is. Libra, Jerry and Michelle were chosen to compete in the PoV in addition to April, Memphis and Jessie. In the hours before the competition, and right in time for BBAD, all hell broke loose.

Libra felt like her alliance members were disrespecting her competitiveness when they had a discussion on the PoV. She got her feelings hurt and left the room in a huff. Keesha followed to make sure she was okay and they went into their bedroom. Libra used the opportunity to vent. I swear this woman must be going through Postpartum hormonal issues or something because her mood swings are furious.

Anyway, helpful Jessie overheard some of the ranting and he immediately beat feet up to the Head of Household room to tattle to April that Libra and Keesha were bad mouthing her. April was already feeling put upon by all the stress of the day, and also finding out that Ollie said that Angie was gorgeous (yeah, her jealous monster came out over that), so she went off. She approached Libra and Keesha in the absolute wrong way and it was on.

April and Libra were screaming at each other, April dismissed Keesha telling her that she'd deal with her later. Of course, that set Keesha off and she went into the kitchen and ranted about April to Renny, Michelle, Ollie and whoever else was in there. Somehow or another Jerry and Renny got involved in that mess. Jerry told Libra to shut up, Renny went off on Jerry for daring to say that. The girls are screaming at each other.

In another room, Jessie is doing a little dance of joy and Dan is trying to play invisible man. He's is so under the radar right now that he may as well not be there. After all was said and done, the girls have put their fragile alliance back together and blame Jessie for the drama. This is all helping Keesha in her quest to have her alliance members vote Jessie out instead of Memphis.

After all the drama, how would the large alliance perform in the PoV competition which followed less than two hours later? Well, it seemed like it motivated them in a good way. They walked away with all the big prizes. Jerry won the Power of Veto, but he's also on slop. April won $10,000 and she shared it with Jerry and Libra. Apparently Libra passed on the letter from home and took a Hawaiian vacation instead. Lucky Michelle won the red unitard for a week and she's not happy. I think that at one point or other in the competition, she had both the money and the vacation. Jessie and Memphis won the letter from home and a slop pass.

So, at this moment, Jerry has promised April that he'd leave the nominations the same. In return, she gave him $4000. She's still determined that Memphis needs to go, but has promised that if Jessie keeps acting out, she'd switch. I swear I don't understand that herd thinking. Once nominations are done, the Head of Household has no power. Why they collectively vote out the choice of that person baffles me. Whatever, though. I guess it works for them. I'm wondering if that will end this week.

Keesha is determined to keep Memphis and April is determined to get him out. If Jessie keeps instigating and stirring the pot, Keesha may prevail. We'll see how this week goes in the Big Brother House. Until next time, catch y'all later.

And the New BB10 Head of Household Is ...

How fitting was it that Big Brother 10 featured Aftershocks as a Head of Household competition after the earthquakes this week? Their staff must have worked many overtime hours on that thing. It was awesome! The building was tilted, it intermittently shook, trash was dumped, wind was blowing dirt and stuff and they had to hold on. As I expected, Jerry went first, but I didn't expect the outcome.

After Jerry went down, Libra dropped shortly afterwards. That surprised me because old girl knows she's a target, you would think she'd have tried a little harder to hold on. After Libra, went Dan. I know he could have lasted longer, but I guess he's continuing his act of not being a threat.

Ollie was next and then I think Jessie was disqualified. We heard Keesha whisper into her microphone something about him wedging his arm between the bar and wall and then we went to trivia. When we got the feeds back, Jessie was off and sulking. Memphis dropped off next and it left our final three: Renny, Michelle and April.

Now I admit that I never thought Renny would outlast all those younguns, but she did. I was impressed by her. What I thought disturbing about this whole thing was the lack of support from the peanut gallery. This was one of the quietest competitions. It was like they were afraid to cheer for anyone because if the other won, they'd be nominated. That's sad. But then it was Dan to the rescue! He cracked me up! He put on his football coach hat and gave all three ladies pep talks. They were so funny.

Once Renny dropped it was April and Michelle for the long haul. Both those ladies looked like they'd be up there for a good while. Neither of their men were cheering them on or anything ... jerks. For a while there, no one said a word, not the two remaining ladies, nor their alliance mates on the sidelines.

Time for a deal. April promised Michelle safety, but Michelle wouldn't drop. She apologized, and April cracked me up when she said that Michelle could stay up there all night with her if she wanted to. After another stretch, Michelle got April to guarantee Jesse's safety as well and in return Michelle promised April and Ollie safety when she won HoH. You could just tell that both those girl's arms were seriously hurting. Finally she dropped off.

April is the new Big Brother 10 Head of Household! Jerry is probably relieved that he'll have a week without having to pretend to be asleep while she and Ollie do their business. But maybe he shouldn't be too relieved. If she's promised Jesse and Michelle safety, who will she nominate? I guess we'll find out Friday. Until then, catch y'all later.

Big Brother 10 Bringing Back America's Player

Hey y'all! Make sure you're watching Big Brother 10 tonight. According to a CBS Press Release, tonight viewers will be given the chance to vote for one player to become America's Player.

The Houseguest that receives the most votes will be offered the chance to become America's Player for one week. If they accept, and are successful in their tasks, they will have the opportunity to win a total of $20,000. As before, they can be voted out, so they'll have to be very careful and make sure that no one else in the house finds out. Viewers will be able to vote on the CBS website or via text message.

A Big Brother 10 Weekend Filled With Fun and Frolic ... Not!

Wow. Just Wow. That's how I felt when I caught up on the Big Brother 10 RealPlayer Superpass feeds from the weekend. My daughter obviously picked the wrong weekend to do the family thing. Jessie became more annoying, Keesha stuck to her guns, and Memphis showed a nasty side.

Keesha nominating Jessie and Angie tore up the 'group of 8'. The fact that Jessie tried to harass, threaten and manipulate Keesha into nominating one of her own was ballsy enough, but to continue to annoy the very people voting seems to me the epitome of arrogance. What kills me, though, is that they STILL plan on voting out Angie.

Let me back up a moment. Keesha won the Power of Veto competition and the Jessie, Memphis, Michelle, and Angie group tried everything they could to get her to remove Jessie and replace him with Libra. Now I know a lot of feed watchers don't like Libra, but to me, it would be a major Howie move to put one of your own on the block if you don't have to.

Keesha, though, may be smarter than she looks and acts. She is Head of Household and she just nominated two of the other alliance. But she's still clean as a whistle. That group blames Libra and April for the nominations and still don't have Keesha on their radar. And by broadcasting the fact that they tried to get her to backdoor Libra, she has ensured Libra's loyalty to her, and dispelled any feelings of mistrust in Libra and April. Keesha is sitting pretty right now.

For now, the 'group of 8' has changed to the 'group of 7', or 'Jerriatrics', as Dan called them. Jessie and company were dispatched, but Renny, Jerry and Dan were absorbed. They are all feeling a sense of loyalty and perhaps obligation to Keesha for not nominating them, when they knew they were vulnerable. Right now she is the 'Big Mama' of the house.

The other six in that alliance want to vote out Jessie so badly, but they've all promised Keesha to go with her choice. And she wants Angie out. No matter how badly Jessie acts, she has such a thing against Angie that her decision will not waver. She blames Jessie's misbehavior on Angie somehow, saying that Angie's scheming. She actually thinks that Angie has the boys so wrapped around her finger that Jessie is sacrificing himself for her. That makes absolutely no sense to me, but to Keesha ...

Jessie shows his immaturity more every day. He's seriously suffering from Little Man's Complex. He's picked fights with Libra, Jerry, and Renny. His arrogance knows no end. He went on a rant Sunday about Gays, Jews and the Hollywood power structure. Michelle has been flirting with him for days, but I don't think he realizes it. I wish he'd just 'Make Love, Not War'and shut up. Wait ... I take that back ... no more Big Brother 10 House Sex.

Yes, Ollie and April are still going at it. One night this weekend, though, I think they got busted by Jerry. They've done it with him sleeping in the room before, but this time he was awake. He let them finish and then he said something to them. April tried to play it off by saying that the noise was Ollie snoring, but Jerry called her on that. He hasn't told anyone else, yet, that I've seen, heard or read, but really, it was only a matter of time until they got caught.

The banners are back, too. There was one flown and Angie, Memphis and Libra apparently saw it. Memphis told people that it said "Keesha, Libra lies. Love Steven". Later, though, he said he was joking and someone said it said "We Love Libra". Big Brother got them into the house for an indoor lockdown very quickly and it kept the the others from seeing it. I wouldn't be surprised to see that overhead tarp from either last season or the one before reappear.

Sunday night was a pretty funny night. Renny did her impressions of the other houseguests, and for the most part they were right on and fun. A couple of times, though, they did get pretty malicious. They were still funny, but not in good fun. Then Dan did his impression of Renny. Now that was funny. He had me cracking up! Good stuff, Maynard.

Angie was there for most of it, and Michelle for some. Of course, they couldn't stand the other group having fun so they had to go to the backyard and bash them. They even brought the sock puppets back out. This time, though, it was not funny, at least not to me. They were cruel and ugly and Memphis showed his true colors. I understand that they are not happy that Keesha nominated two of them for eviction. But sometimes people can just be mean.

Anyway, there are four more days until the next Big Brother 10 eviction and the next Head of Household competition. Will this be enough time for Jessie to really tick everyone off so badly that they get Keesha to relent? I guess we'll just have to see. Until next time ...

What's Ahead for Jessie's Reign on Big Brother 10?

It was an exciting few days on the Big Brother 10 Real Player Live Feeds. We had stupid foot-in-mouth comments, the beginning of a showmance, a hilarious puppet show and a chick fight. And we didn't get feeds until late Sunday night! Unfortunately, we also saw cliques and power trips. This cast of houseguests came in playing hard. It seems like they forgot to take time to get to know each other first, or at least let us get to know them first.

I hate that there are distinct groups already. There is the Dan, Angie and Steven gang, which used to include Brian. There is the Libra, April, Ollie gang that sometimes includes Michelle and Keesha. There is the Memphis / Jessie gang, who right now is allied with the gang of five, and then there are Jerry and Renny. Memphis, who I thought I would dislike, is one of the only ones to really socialize with all the groups. Every once in a while, they will all play games together, but for the most part they are separate.

The Dan group came out gangbusters and shot itself in the foot. They are still feeling the repercussions because they targeted Jesse and Memphis early and let everyone else know it. With Jessie winning Head of Household this week, another of their little group may go home. At one point it was going to be Dan and Steven on the block, then I heard that they were going to backdoor one of them. I understand the Dan animosity, but I'm not sure of the Steven hate. I know why I don't like him, but I'm not sure what he's done to boost himself towards the top of the hit list.

I like Angie, but I don't envy her position in the game right now. I, too, have more male friends than female friends and I can't stand the drama that inevitably occurs in a chick clique. In most cases, her hanging out with the guys would be a smart choice for her, but it's gotten her on the outs with the big group. She's calm and level headed and if she can weather this first big storm, and still be around when the big group implodes, she could go far.

I'll miss Brian. Yeah, he was a knucklehead and played his cards too fast, but he was interesting. That group entertained me. The sock puppet show was about 30 minutes of hilarity and the history discussions were fascinating. I never seem to catch those intelligent or fun conversations from the other side. They talk game and that gets old when it just repeats, or silly, girly stuff. There are so many built in sports rivalries in that house and I want to hear some sports arguments. They're whining about being bored already and bored houseguests mean bored viewers.

I'm really apprehensive about this week on the feeds. It could be really, really boring if we have to listen to the different groups bash each other, or it could be fun if someone steps up and does things to bring the groups together. I hope someone there has some imagination to come up with some fun. They have so much sports equipment, they could have Olympics with some adaptation. There have got to be things that they can do to stave off the boredom and I hope they do them.

This week on Big Brother 10, Thursday should be nominations, Friday should be the Power of Veto competition and Sunday or Monday the Veto ceremony. That Didn't Take Long

We've had our first bigot exposed. And despite what I thought, it wasn't Dan or Ollie. And it had nothing to do with Steven's being gay. In fact, Steven is our first foot in mouth bigot of the season.
He actually referred to Libra as "that colored girl". I was ready to reach through the screen and grab his chicken neck. A couple of days ago I liked him, now I'm ready for him to go.

And So Big Brother 10 Begins

Big Brother 10 is finally here. All day I've been waiting for the show to come on, and I wasn't disappointed. At least not in the show. I'm always disappointed at the beginning because the houseguests have been in the house for days, bonding and scheming and we've not been allowed to see it. We only get to see what CBS decides to let us see, and we know how they like to skew editing.

The first few days they all feel each other out, take instant likes and dislikes, and start building alliances. And we miss it! We were shown only a couple of bits of this with Dan and Brian. The alpha males have once again decided to ally. It aggravates me every year and gives me a couple of people to dislike early, ha ha. I don't worry too much, however, as they usually self destruct.

I like Jerry. I think he was dumb to reveal his little strategy to Brian right away, but he seems sweet. Brian probably ran right back to Dan and Ollie, who they decided to allow into their alliance, and to spill those beans. Brian is definitely feeling a little cocky these days. He's got a strong man alliance on the one hand, and he knows Jerry's plan and seems to be trusted by him. His smirk and gloating after the nominations made me roll my eyes.

When was the last time they had a car competition right at the beginning? The time I remember most was in Big Brother 2, when Autumn got so mad at Kent for not getting out of the minivan and allowing her to win. This time Steven got mad at Memphis for not getting out of the car. And they had a choice between a vintage Mustang and Camaro. I thought Jesse was stupid to volunteer to sit out a challenge sight unseen. He got his comeuppance, though. He looked sick when he found out that he couldn't win the car.

This challenge setup reminded me of SkyTrack, the American Gladiators event where the contenders maneuver upside down along a track to get to the finish line. In the Big Brother 10 version, the group split into two teams, all hopped in a VW Bug and maneuvered it upside down along a track. Brought back memories. How many people have you fit into a bug? The winning team got food for the week and the losing team got slop.

I hate slop! I wish they'd go back to Peanut Butter & Jelly, if they insisted on a negative consequence for food. In one of her many interviews leading up to this premiere, Allison Grodner said something about food comps and the negative consequence makes them work for something since they don't have to raise their food or whatever. Puhleeze. Be creative, come up with a house competition where the negative is not getting something. Similar to season 1, have them compete for a certain number of dollars, and they can only get what they afford. Speaking of that, I remember when the season 1 houseguests ran out of toilet paper and the BB Angels from TV Clubhouse drove out there and threw them toilet paper over the wall. Good times, good times.

Disappointingly, the only thing I learned about the women were that April's boobs are real and that Renny's voice and laugh are going to annoy me. That's what happens, I guess, when you try to cram six days of happenings into about 48 minutes. And it looks like I'm not the only person that Renny is annoying. They showed quite a few of the others making comments about her.

The military vet connection between Jerry and Brian was strong for Jerry and I hope it doesn't bite him in the butt. He did get a look on his face when Brian pushed for Dan to not be on the block and seemed to go along with bringing Dan into his alliance. Is he really that gullible or is he playing Brian like Brian thinks he's playing Jerry? I was surprised that only Brian was shown approaching Jerry about nominations. Jerry's explanation for his nominations was spot on, though. I think it kept him from being a target of the person that stays.

Hopefully once the feeds come on, we'll be able to catch who won the Power of Veto. Tuesday night the show will reveal that information along with the Veto Ceremony. Wednesday is the first live eviction show, and it will have a live audience. It's been hinted that we'll have more audience participation this go round, and I can't wait to find out what it is. Tex's Take on the Big Brother 10 Women

It's been three days since the Big Brother 10 cast reveal. I've read the bios posted on the CBS website and the interviews that Diane Henry from Big Brother 5 did. I have no idea how any of these people will do in the house, but I've already picked favorites and not so favorites. Of course, that will probably change about four or five times before it's all over. If you haven't listened to the interviews, I highly recommend them. You can find them here. This is Tex's First Take on the Big Brother 10 Women.

Angie - She seems alright, even though she's a Gator fan (just kidding). She's recently divorced, but is not looking for a showmance. I like how she said that she'd kill her antagonists with kindness, I'll have to see that in action. She really seems down to earth. She doesn't strike me as one of those females obsessed with hair and fashion, and I like that.

April - I'm not sure about her. Her self-professed OCD could get on everyone's nerves really quickly. She even admitted that she hadn't been able to have a roommate because of it. If she couldn't live with one other person, how does she think she'll handle living with 12 others? She has an identical twin sister, Angela, who is pregnant and she has a massive crush on Howie. How ironic is that seeing that he went busto on another April.

Keesha - She's a Hooter's girl and has no plans for anything else except Hooter's management. She got caught with her friend's ex, even though she knew the friend was still in love with the ex. With friends like this ... need I say more? She also has a live in boyfriend, but is very open to a showmance if it will help her to get ahead in the game. She's one of those who 'just wants everyone to like me', said in my fake high voice.

Libra - I definitely like her. She had me cracking up in her CBS2 interview. Her concerns about her hair rang so familiar. She's smart and has a strong personality. She said in another interview that she wants everyone to know that she does not have ABWS (angry black woman syndrome). I high five her for that. Lately it seems that the only Black women cast in reality shows have this and if she doesn't, great.

Michelle - She had one of the best lines of the interviews. She said, "On the first day, everybody will love each other; second day, we'll like each other; third day, there's gonna be some hating of each other." She broke up with her fiance of four years at her cousin's wedding. She's an outspoken Portuguese lady and I can see her going off on one of the chauvinistic males in that house, especially since she said that she's had some humdinger political battles.

Renny - She says that she's a New Orleans socialite, but I don't see that. Her accent is a curious combination of cajun and Boston. She says that she has a wig and outfit for every occasion and calls herself a Glamourpuss. Yes, I'm rolling my eyes. She's married, but doesn't rule out a showmance. Says you don't have to be in love to be married, not talking about herself, of course. I can see her annoying some of the strong women in the house.

There you have it. My first impressions of the women of the Big Brother 10 house. It's always interesting to see how my feelings about the houseguests change over the course of a season. What do you think of the BB10 women? Comment below.

Big Brother 10 Cast Has All the Ingredients for Excitement

CBS has posted the cast of Big Brother 10 on their website and I must say that I’m excited. There is the potential for so much conflict and for honest, intelligent conversation. These people are educated and for the most part hold down real jobs. They didn’t cast this season in the local bars.

There is Dan, the Michigan State graduate who is a teacher in an all boys Catholic High School. He says he’s conservative and would have moved out of the country if Sen. Hillary Clinton had won the election. He also speaks disparagingly of tattoos and piercings. He will probably clash with Ollie, the son of a Pentecostal preacher on religious grounds and quite a few of the women on ideological grounds, especially Libra, the strong female type that’s a staunch Sen. Obama supporter.

Ollie, the preacher’s son, doesn’t smoke, drink or curse. That should make him stand out like a sore thumb. He also played college football at Iowa State, so he may have a few ‘discussions’ with Nebraska fan, April, and maybe the Florida football fans, too. Our religious duo should also have conflict with Steven, the gay rodeo cowboy who thinks that he’s a good people manipulator.

Speaking of April, her favorite activities are watching sports, grilling outside, bowling and having sex. That should make her pretty popular with most of the single guys in the house.

There are actually a couple of other women who profess to be sports fans in addition to April. Angie is a University of Florida grad and a big Gator fan, Libra played college volleyball at Rice, and Michelle, a runner, is also a sports fan. I don’t know if Renny, the 53 year old New Orleans socialite, is a sports fan, but she was chosen as a New Orleans Saints dancer in 1977.

There is the requisite eye candy in the house, too. For the women, there is Jesse, the 22 year old body builder, and what a body it is. He describes himself as personable, confrontational and a flirt. For the guys, there is Keesha, the 29 year old Hooter’s girl. She’s a member of PETA and doesn’t eat red meat. That ought to spark some conversation.

The final three houseguests are Brian, the Air Force veteran, who’s also a college football fan and has his own relationship with religion; Jerry, the 75 year old great grandfather; and Memphis, the mixologist, who is NOT a bartender. Memphis also went to Florida State and could have some good natured ribbing with Angie.

My sentimental favorite right now would have to be Jerry. He’s not only representing the geezers, he’s also a diehard Big Brother fan. He’s watched every season and not just the shows. He also watches the feeds and Showtime’s Big Brother After Dark. He’s been married 54 years and his wife’s been diagnosed with Parkinson’s.

All in all, this looks to be a very satisfying cast this season on Big Brother 10. We have only a few more days to wait until the premiere. Check out the full biographies on the CBS Big Brother website and come back here and post your impressions. Catch y’all later.

What's Going On With Big Brother 10?

Hey y'all, welcome back! I'm really excited about this season of Big Brother and hope that you are too. There are a bunch of rumors floating around so let's talk about them.

It's been basically confirmed that the start date is Sunday, July 13th with the first eviction on July 16th. The Eviction shows will have live audiences and are still on Wednesdays. There will still be Big Brother After Dark on Showtime and Housecalls on CBS.com. I've read that the schedule of Housecalls co-hosts is: Bunky on Mondays, Daniele on Tuesdays, Sheila on Wednesdays, Dick on Thursdays, and Kaysar on Fridays. EvelDick has posted on his MySpace blog that he will be hosting a Wednesday evening show on RealPlayer Superpass in the period of time between the feeds being cut for the live show and the live show airing on the East Coast.

As far as casting goes, a few of the rejected applicants have been posting all over the internet. They seem to agree that conflict was a key word for casting. Also there is also agreement that all of the houseguests are strangers (yay!) and none of them are prior houseguests. There is a model named Laura Leigh, who has nude pictures of herself posted, and she was supposedly a finalist. Of course, if, and that's a big if, that was true, then she was probably dropped as soon as those postings started appearing. There is even a rumor floating that there is a 60 yr old houseguest.

Diane from Big Brother 5 sent a MySpace bulletin that tomorrow was the press junket and that they'd have houseguest information on cbs2.com/bigbrother. I think she was a week off because other sources have the press junket next Wednesday, July 9th. I guess we'll find out about that one tomorrow.

The house has been changed, as usual. This season there may be era rooms, i.e. a 60's room, a 70's room, etc. That goes along with the rumor that the houseguests are more diverse in age. I've also seen postings of hidden and/or disappearing rooms and magic mirrors.

As usual the number of houseguests has been speculated upon. I've read anything from 13 to 17. Allison Grodner did an interview with and she confirmed that there will be 13 houseguests with 'extreme points of view'. She disclosed quite a bit of information in this interview, below:

I am super psyched about this season! There are less than two weeks to go before my summer addiction begins. Time to do major shopping and cleaning. Rearrange the furniture for the best seat in the house, but make sure it's close to your computer. I am looking forward to interesting feeds if the houseguests are as extreme as reported. Be sure to bookmark , because we'll keep you up to date and our bloggers are ready to keep you entertained.

Live Eviction Shows for Big Brother 10?

Audiences Unlimited posted a notice yesterday advertising tickets to the Wednesday, July 16th, Big Brother 10 show. The notice states, "You are invited to be part of the studio audience for the LIVE weekly 'elimination' show where one Houseguest gets voted out." It advises potential audience members that they could be on television and that appropriate dress is required.

Checking back, that date is no longer posted, but five other future dates are. All the dates correspond to the Wednesday night eviction shows. Is this one of the new changes promised? If so, I like it. If you live in the Los Angeles area and are interested in attending, keep checking that website, because they will only post tickets 30 days ahead of time, and if today is any indication, the tickets go fast.

It's interesting to note that only six Wednesdays are listed. Will the jury start at that point? I'm sure they won't let studio audiences anywhere near the jurors. What other little tidbits will be coming out? We've heard that there will be more older cast members. I hope they revamp some of the competitions and give those people something to do!
